ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University men's tennis team, the No. 3 seed, defeated No. 2 seeded Pratt Institute 4-2 on Friday afternoon in an Atlantic East Semifinal contest.
The duo of
Logan Gorbitz and
Trevor Lodge won their match at third doubles 6-1.
Daniel Bonowski and
Joe Troilo battled at second doubles, but ending up falling 7-6 (7-2) and Pratt took the doubles point.
Everyone battled in singles action. After dropping the first set 6-4,
Jason Petrin came back and won 6-4, 7-5 at first singles to take the flight. Lodge won his match at third singles 6-0, 7-5. At fifth singles, Troilo won 6-4, 6-3 and
James Leuzzi took sixth singles 6-4, 6-4 to take the mach. Bonowski was knotted at one set each at fourth singles when the match was called.
Neumann (9-5) will face No. 1 seeded Marymount in the Atlantic East Championship on Sunday afternoon beginning at 4:00 PM.
