Women’s Lacrosse Falls in Atlantic East Championship

ARLINGTON, Va. – The Neumann University Women's Lacrosse team suffered a 22-12 loss against Marymount University in the Atlantic East Conference championship game on Saturday afternoon, ending their 2025 season.
 
Cassidy Starner led the Neumann effort with three goals and an assist. Krista Geibler had a strong two-way game with three goals and a team-high three caused turnovers. Lindsey Fagan contributed two goals and two assists with Maggie Miller earning two goals, an assist, four ground balls, and two caused turnovers. Abbey Fenton made 10 saves in goal.
 
Marymount put up the first two goals of the game before Geibler struck at the 7:38. The Saints rattled off four straight, but with 32 seconds left in the first, Starner scored on an assist from Miller to make it a 6-2 deficit after 15 minutes of play.
 
Both teams traded goals over the first six minutes of the second quarter with Fagan, Starner, and Geibler notching for the Knights. Marymount pulled off two quick goals in 32 seconds, but Alena Catka and Miller got on the board as well. With 1:42 left in the half, the Saints scored two consecutive free position goals to take a 13-7 at the break.
 
The Saints continued to push the offense to start off the third as they scored the quarter's first three goals. Neumann would pop in the next two out of three as Fagan and Catka both scored with the woman-up advantage. Marymount closed out the quarter with a goal with 1:23 left and they led 18-9. Geibler and Starner tallied goals in the first 5:54 to give Neumann some life but the Saints scored four of the final five goals to keep the Knights at bay.
 
Neumann finishes the season with a 10-9 record.
