ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University Women's Soccer team were undone by Muhlenberg College on Saturday night in a non-conference match, 2-1.
 
It took until the midway point of the first half but Muhlenberg was able to take a 1-0 lead in the 25th minute on a quick counter and crossing play. Nine minutes into the second, in the 55^th minute, the Mules were awarded a free kick just outside on the 18 yard box. They took full advantage of it as the kick was crossed and headed in to double their advantage.
 
That goal led to Neumann finding a way to press in the offensive third of the field. In the 66^th minute, Anna Poehlmann was fouled 35 yards away from the goal. Summer Brown was tasked with taking the free kick and grabbed that opportunity. She took a long run onto the ball and drove it into the top of the goal for her first of the season, cutting the deficit in half. Unfortunately for the Knights, they were unable to find the equalizer.
 
S. Brown led the Knights with two shots with the one on goal. Julianna Hatt also took two shots. Shannon Duffy made three saves in goal.
 
Neumann (0-2-1) will be back in action on Monday when they host Wilson College for a 4:00 PM start.
