ASTON, PA. – The Neumann University Men's Basketball defeated Immaculata University on Wednesday night by a final score of 94-78 for their eighth win in a row, in the season's first game in Atlantic East Conference play.

Donte Dupriest astounded with 27 points and 12 rebounds while DJ Earl contributed 25 points. Newcomer Jayson Love was a board shy of a double-double in his Knights debut as he finished with 16 points and nine rebounds. Jarell Keel was a point shy of a double-double on the other side, picking up 10 rebounds to go with his nine points. Aarick Salata ended with a game-high nine assists to go with his nine points.

Just over a minute into the game, Neumann had an early 5-3 lead, but Immaculata went off on a nine-point run over the next 1:46 to take a 12-5 lead. The Mighty Mac were able to stretch the lead to ten with 7:33 left in the first half, for their biggest lead of the game. The Knights started to click from there as they put up a 12-0 run, closed by two straight three-pointers by Izaiah Johnson Young-El, giving them a 29-27 lead with 4:42 left. The game stayed tied until the 1:21 mark when two Dupriest free throws made it a 34-32 game at the break.

Immaculata would not go away quietly as they started the second with a 9-4 run to take a three point lead just three minutes in. Neumann went up for good with 14:48 remaining as they went on an 8-4 run for a 46-45 lead. They continued to push forward as the Knights dropped 17 of the next 23 points over the next four minutes for a 12 point edge. The Mighty Macs tried to claw back in on a 9-2 lead to get back within five with 8:19 left, but a Dupriest layup and an Earl three helped seal the game just a little over seven minutes left. Immaculata did back within eight with five minutes left but again, Neumann exerted themselves with a 20-12 finish of the game.

Neumann (9-3, 1-0 Atlantic East) will look to keep their winning streak going as they travel up to Saint Elizabeth University on Saturday afternoon for a 3:00 PM conference clash.
