ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University women's basketball team opened Atlantic East Conference action on Wednesday evening, falling to Immaculata University 75-55.
Emily DuPont led the Knights with 13 points, seven rebounds and three blocks.
Bri Gautier added eight points.
The Mighty Macs opened the game with the first seven points. DuPont put the Knights on the board with a three-pointer. A layup by
Lindsay Holden made the score 12-9 with 3:40 left in the first quarter. Immaculata outscored Neumann 6-3 to finish the quarter and hold an 18-12 advantage.
Immaculata held a 28-21 edge with 1:45 left before halftime and went on a 9-1 run into the break for a 37-22 score. The Mighty Macs continued to add to their lead in the third quarter for a 60-34 score heading into the final 10 minutes.
The Knights cut six points off the Mighty Macs lead in the fourth quarter, but Immaculata used the lead built in the third to come away with the 75-55 conference win.
Neumann (2-10, 0-1 Atlantic East) heads to Saint Elizabeth on Saturday for more conference action beginning at 1:00 PM.
