HADDONFIELD, N.J. – The Atlantic East Conference announced their weekly awards on Monday afternoon and Neumann University Men's and Women's Basketball were well represented.
Donte Dupriest was named the Men's Basketball Player of the Week while
Bryan Etienne and
Jess Aponik were named to the Honor Roll.
Dupriest averaged 25 points and 11.5 rebounds in a 1-1 week for the Knights. In the 70-52 win over Pratt, the senior tallied a double-double with 23 points and 14 rebounds. He also added four assists, two steals and a block. In a close 75-74 overtime loss to Gwynedd Mercy, Dupriest scored 27 points, including the game-tying basket that sent the game into overtime. He added nine rebounds and three assists. This is his ninth weekly award of the season and second Player of the Week selection.
Etienne averaged 14 points and 9.5 rebounds this week for Neumann. The senior tallied a double-double, 12 points and 11 rebounds, in the win at Pratt. Etienne added six assists, three steals and a block in the road victory. Back at home against Gwynedd Mercy, the senior had 16 points and eight rebounds. This is his second weekly Honor Roll selection of the season.
Aponik averaged 14 points in a perfect 2-0 week for the Knights. In the 60-33 win over Pratt, the sophomore scored six points in 15 minutes as the entire team contributed to the win. She followed with 22 points, nine rebounds and three blocks in Saturday's 62-48 win over Gwynedd Mercy.
Both teams will look forward to their penultimate game on Wednesday against Marywood University. The women will be on the road in Scranton, Pa. while the men will host at the Mirenda Center. Both are starting at 6:00 PM.
