HACKETTSTOWN, N.J. – The Neumann University men's basketball team picked up a 71-58 Atlantic East Conference win at Centenary University on Saturday afternoon in the regular season finale.
Bryan Etienne led five Knights in double-digits with 19 points while adding 10 rebounds for a double-double.
Donte Dupriest netted 13 points.
Izaiah Johnson Young-El scored 12 points,
Aarick Salata 11 and
CJ Miles added 10.
Jarell Keel pulled down nine rebounds.
The Cyclones opened the game with a three-pointer and held an edge over the first 10 minutes. A three-pointer by Salata in the middle of an 8-0 run put the Knights in the lead 14-12 midway through the half. Neumann built its lead to as many as 17 in the half, 34-17. Centenary scored the last eight points of the half for a 34-25 score at the break.
Leading 37-29 early in the second, the Knights went on a 12-3 run to extend their lead to 49-32. The Cyclones scored the final five points of the game, but Neumann came away with the 71-58 win in the regular season finale.
Neumann (16-9, 8-6 Atlantic East) will be the No. 4 seed in the postseason and will host No. 5 Marywood on Monday evening in a first-round game. Tip-off is slated for 8:00 PM, following the women's game.
