ASTON, Pa. – With a win in Saturday's regular season finale, the Neumann University Women's Basketball team clinched the number four seed in the 2026 Atlantic East Conference Tournament.
Overall, the Knights were 9-16 but finished the conference schedule with a 7-7 record. Their opponents in the First Round will be the Centenary University Cyclones, who earned the fifth seed thanks to their 6-8 record. Overall, they are 13-12.
The season series between the Knights and Cyclones was split as each team won on the other's home court. On January 24
th, at the Mirenda Center, Centenary came away with a 72-66 win. Neumann had a 10-point lead at the half but could not hang on for the win.
Bri Gautier and
Emily DuPont led with 18 points each while
Jess Aponik had 12. Just this past Saturday, the Knights went up to Hackettstown for their season-finale, and with the season on the line, Neumann notched a 66-51 win.
Elaina Guerzon was the top point getter with 17. Gautier had 14 and
Jess Aponik had 13.
The Knights are led by DuPont's 15.8 point per game, which is fifth in the conference. She also has 7.5 rebounds per game and is third in the Atlantic East in free throw percentage at 73.4%. Defensively, she second in blocked shots with 42, and fifth in steals with 51.
Jess Aponik averages 10.5 points per game and Gautier contributes 9.4.
Jenna Aponik is the Knights' top passer with 62 assists.
The game is scheduled for Tuesday at 6:00 PM, and the winner with take on the top seed, Immaculata University in the semifinals on Thursday.
