Men’s Hockey Opens MAC Tournament on Saturday

ASTON, Pa. – For the second consecutive season, the Neumann University Men's Hockey team has qualified for the Middle Atlantic Conference Postseason Tournament, and they'll host Alvernia University on Saturday at 4:00 PM in the Knights' first home playoff game since the 2015-2016 season.
 
Neumann comes into the postseason as the MAC Regular Season Champions and will be the top seed thanks to a 14-5-2 conference record, giving them 46 points in the standings. Overall, they finished with a record of 15-8-2. Alvernia is the fourth seed with a conference record of 13-8 for 38 points. Overall, the Golden Wolves are 15-10.
 
Alvernia has made a conference postseason tournament in every season as an NCAA program, dating back to the 2022-2023 campaign. They will look to advance to a conference championship game for the first time in their history. The Knights are looking for their seventh appearance in a championship game, and their first since the 2014-2015 season.
 
Neumann won two of the three regular-season meetings in 2025-26. On December 5th and 6th, the games in Reading were split. The Knights won the opener by a final score of 2-1 with Ben Gibbons and Niko Tishkevich scoring for Neumann. The next day, it was a 7-3 Alvernia win with Tishkevich leading the effort with two goals. The rubber match, played on January 31st at IceWorks, was a 3-2 Neumann triumph. Max Donohoe scored the game-winning goal late in the second period.
 
Donohoe led the Knights offense and the conference with 16 goals. Zack Smith contributed 13 goals, which was tied for third in the MAC. Lucas Culhane added 33 points, with 26 assists, both team and conference highs. His 26 assists is also tied for third in the country.
 
Sonny DiNubile was among the top defenders for Neumann with a plus 11 rating. Christian Green has played the lion's share in goal with a record of 11-1-2 He had a 1.77 goals against average, and a .944 save percentage, which were both the best in the MAC. His save percentage is fourth in Division III and his goals against average is eighth. His three shutouts was second in the conference.
 
The winner of Saturday's semifinal will take on either No. 2 Stevenson University or No. 3 Wilkes University in the championship game on Saturday, March 7th, at the home arena of the highest remaining seed. Tickets for the semifinals will be sold at the door, and the pricing is listed below:
