ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University Men's Hockey team punched their ticket to the Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) Championship game with a 5-0 shutout of Alvernia University on Saturday afternoon in the tournament semifinals.

Max Donohoe, and
Niko Tishkevich each had two-point games as they individually had a goal and an assist. Coccimiglio led with seven shots on goal while Donohoe had six. The Knights were sharp in the face-off circle led by
Owen Johnston winning eight of 11 and
Hayden Pimm winning five of eight.
Christian Green picked up his fourth shutout of the season with 29 saves.
The first period was scoreless until the 2:58 mark when Coccimiglio poked in his 10
th goal of the season.
Dustin Patterson and Tishkevich earned assists for the 1-0 lead. 11 seconds later,
Lucas Culhane drifted into the offensive zone and left a pass for Donohoe. He dragged a wrister in for his 17
th goals of the season, doubling their edge. In the dying seconds of the period,
Jake Barkley pushed a pass back to Shaun Eliav. He took a shot at the buzzer and struck for his fourth goal of the year, making it 3-0 after 20 minutes.
Alvernia pushed back over the first 10 minutes of the second period, but Green was able to fight off a number of quality shots. At the 11:47 mark, the Knights moved in on a 2-on-1. Culhane took the initial shot and although it was stopped
Matt Dimaline deposited the rebound for his sixth goal of the season. Less than a minute later, Tishkevich took a Coccimiglio pass and scored his 10
th of the year to seal the win.
Neumann (16-8-2) will now advance to the MAC Championship and host the number two seed, Stevenson University, next Saturday night at 7:00 PM. The Knights will play for a conference title for the first time since the 2015-2016 season.
