Men’s Lacrosse Falls at Albright

READING, Pa. – The Neumann University Men's Lacrosse team was handed an 18-7 loss against Albright College in a non-conference game on Wednesday night.
 
Although the game was scheduled for a 7:00 PM start, it was delayed nearly 90 minutes to due lightning in the area. Five minutes into the game, Albright took a 1-0 lead but the Knights were able to respond. Cooper Dee struck first to tie the game at the 7:48 mark with Bryan Avenzato gave the Knights the lead just 17 seconds later. 32 seconds after that, Neumann made it 3-1 when Kaden Adams scored. The Lions took the lead back by the end of the first, putting up three straight goals.
 
Albright added on 14 seconds into the second with a man-up goal, and put up one more at 12:20 for a 6-3 lead. Adams and Dee scored for Neumann, five minutes apart getting them within one with 2:14 left in the half. Albright closed the half with a goal for a 7-5 lead at the interval.
 
The Lions roared ahead in the third but putting up six goals in the quarter. Connor Hurley scored at the 4:44 mark and Dee notched an unassisted goal with seven seconds left, but the Knights trailed 13-7. Albright rattled off the only five goals in the fourth to seal the win.
 
Dee led the offensive effort with a hat trick and two ground balls. Adams added two goals and Matt Morris had two assists. Sean Kelly had a big day as he won 22 of the 27 faceoffs he took and had nine ground balls. Cooper Waltz led defensively with six caused turnovers and five ground balls. Owen Avelar made five saves in net.
 
Neumann (0-5) will return home for their next game as they'll host Drew University on Saturday afternoon for a 1:00 PM start.
