ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University Men's Volleyball team were handed a 3-0 loss on Friday night in a United East Conference match against Gallaudet.
 
The Knights got off to a solid start as they took a 5-3 lead. Gallaudet responded with a six-point run to lead 12-7. For the rest of the first set, neither team went on a run longer than two points as the Bison took it, 25-18.
 
Early in the second, Neumann went on their longest run of the match as they scored five in a row to lead 8-4. Gallaudet came right back to tie the set at eight as for most of the rest of the set, neither team's lead advanced past one point. With things even at 17, the Bison went on a 3-0 run, but the Knights clawed back to tie it at 23. Gallaudet scored the last two points to take a commanding 2-0 lead in the match.
 
After the Knights took a 1-0 lead in the third, both teams traded four-point runs, keeping things close. Even up at eight apiece, Gallaudet scored six consecutive points to pull away. Neumann had a late four point run to get within 22-18 but could not extend the evening.
 
Isaiah Thomas led Neumann with 10 kills and two service aces. Trey Edmonds followed with seven and led in digs with 10. Noah Banaag had 20 assists.
 
Neumann (3-10, 1-3 United East) will return to action on Tuesday night when they visit Immaculata University for a 7:00 PM start.
