MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. – The Neumann University Baseball opened their 2026 campaign on Monday afternoon in the first game of their annual Spring Break trip with an 11-1 loss against Elmira College.
The Soaring Eagles got the afternoon started with two runs in the first due to an error. They added two more in the second as a run scored on a double play and another on a wild pitch. With one out in the third,
Nick Ciesielka hit a solo home run, his first NCAA homer, to get the Knights on the board.
Elmira answered with three runs in the bottom of the inning on a solo homer and two sacrifice flies. An RBI double in the fourth made it a seven-run game. A final three runs in the sixth sealed the game for the Soaring Eagles, thanks to two RBI singles and a run-scoring wild pitch.
Neumann (0-1) will try to break into the win column when they take on New England College on Tuesday morning. First pitch is scheduled for 11:00 AM.
