ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University Men's Volleyball team were handed a 3-0 decision on Saturday morning in the penultimate match of the season against United East Conference foes, Lancaster Bible College.
The Chargers got off to a quick start thanks to a 6-1 run to start. Neumann had their best push of the day right after, scoring four in a row. From there, the Knights could not get more than one point at a time, giving up a 6-0 run to close the set down 25-10.
In the second, with the score even at three. Lancaster Bible scored five in a row for an 8-3 edge. The teams traded points for the next six but a five-point jaunt by the Changers allowed them to pull away at 16-6, and eventually win the set, 25-13.
Despite all efforts, Neumann fell behind 8-2 to start the third set. The Knights tried to forge their way back into the match but with the score at 14-9, a 6-1 run by Lancaster Bible gave them a 10-point lead at 20-10, on the way to a 25-16 win.
Trey Edmonds led the offense with five kills, adding five digs.
Noah Banaag helped with 11 aces.
Neumann (4-13, 2-5 United East) will close out the regular season on Monday night with a United East match against University of Valley Forge, starting at 7:00 PM.
