READING, Pa. – The Neumann University Men's Lacrosse dropped a 13-7 non-conference match-up on Saturday afternoon at Alvernia University.
 
The Knights got on the board first when Matt Morris scored on a pass from Luke Sykes just 1:03 into the game. Alvernia rattled off three in a row to lead 3-1 with 8:04 left but Neumann forged a comeback. With 6:31 left in the first, Morris struck again for his fourth of the season and Sykes followed with a man-up goal 16 seconds later to tie the game. The Golden Wolves retook the lead with two late strikes to lead 5-3 after fifteen minutes.
 
Cooper Dee got the Knights within one with a man-up goal from Connor Hurley at the 12:09 mark but Alvernia grabbed goals the only other goal in the period and they lead 7-4 at the half. The Golden Wolves pulled away in the third, scoring the quarter's only four goals to extend the lead to seven.
 
Dee put up his third goal of the season 4:55 into the fourth but Alvernia scored the next two to seal the game. Darius Thompson grabbed his fifth of the year with 1:16 left, then Kaden Adams scored his second, with 26 seconds remaining to close the game.
 
Dee finished with two goals and an assist as Morris ended with two goals on two shots on goal. Hurley added two assists with five shots on goal. Sean Harrington led defensively with three caused turnovers and five ground balls. Owen Avelar made 16 saves in goal.
 
Neumann (0-4) will return to the field on Wednesday afternoon when they visit Albright College for a 7:00 PM non-conference game.
