CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. – The Neumann University men's volleyball team returned from spring break and fell at Wilson College 3-0 on Saturday afternoon in United East Conference action.
Trey Edmonds led the Knights with nine kills and seven digs.
John Soeffing added eight kills and a .368 hitting percentage.
Noah Banaag handed out 21 assists.
Soeffing opened the match with a kill as the teams went back and forth to start. With Wilson holding a 10-9 edge, the Phoenix four straight points. They also scored five straight points later in the set to get to set point, 24-16. A kill by Banaag and Soeffing held off set point, but Wilson then got a kill for the 25-18 set one win.
The Phoenix used an eight-point run in the second set to increase their lead and came away with the 25-12 set two win.
Wilson built a 24-14 lead in the third set when Neumann scored six straight points behind the serving of Edmonds. It wasn't enough and the Phoenix tallied a kill for the 25-20 set three and 3-0 match win.
Neumann (2-9, 0-2 United East) returns home on Wednesday evening for a conference match against Pratt Institute. Action is slated to get underway at 7:00 PM.
