PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – The Neumann University Women's Flag Football team went to the City of Brotherly Love for the final games of the regular season on Saturday afternoon. They dropped the opener against Immaculata University, 23-0 before defeating the hosts, Chestnut Hill College, in overtime, 18-12.
The first few drives of the first quarter in the opener against Immaculata went fruitless but the Mighty Macs were able to score with 5:53 remaining. They added a safety at the 1:44 mark to lead 9-0. The only score of the second quarter was another safety for Immaculata, making it 11-0. The Mighty Macs added a touchdown pass in the third and a rushing touchdown in the fourth to seal the win.
In game two against the Griffins, the first quarter went scoreless before Chestnut Hill returned an interception for a touchdown. Neumann responded in the third when
Kayla Maisch rushed into the end zone from 10 yards away, tying the game at 6-6.
In the fourth, with 6:19 remaining, The Knights took a 12-6 lead but at the 2:25 mark, Chestnut Hill tied the game, forcing overtime. Maisch scored to take an 18-12 lead and with 4
th and 8,
Sam Knight intercepted a pass to clinch the win.
Maisch, combined between the two games, passed for 66 yards and rushed for 78.
Chloe Ballew also passed for 65 yards.
Shannon Duffy was the top receiver with nine catches for 47 yards.
Marie Berry was the leading tackler with 17 flag pulls with
Ariel Noble adding 15.
Neumann (9-7, 9-7 Atlantic East) will now head to the 2026 Atlantic East Conference tournament as the fourth seed. They'll host Holy Family University in the first round on Tuesday, starting at 7:00 PM.
