HACKETTSTOWN, N.J. – The Neumann University women's lacrosse team sped past Centenary University 17-1 on Wednesday afternoon in Atlantic East Conference action.
Alena Catka scored four goals and added four assists while grabbing 14 draw controls.
Maggie Miller,
Rachel Roane and
Krista Geibler all added two goals and an assist.
Gracie Kucia also scored two goals.
Morgan Keely,
Brighid Brady and
Miley Pascal all scored their first goals of the season.
Kenna Sanders and
Adriana O'Heron rounded out the scoring for the Knights.
Sarah Kiraly started in net for the Knights and got the win.
Kortney Kaelin played the second half and made three saves.
Catka opened the scoring just 13 seconds into the game off an assist from Miller. Kucia, Roane, Catka and Miller all scored in the first five minutes for a quick 5-0 advantage.
The Knights kept the pressure on in the first quarter and put 11 goals on the board, capped by a goal by Sanders.
In the second quarter, Brady and Keely scored their first goals and the Knights took a 15-0 lead into halftime.
Pascal capped the scoring for the Knights in the third quarter. The Cyclones scored their lone goal with 21 seconds left in the third quarter. Neither team scored in the fourth quarter for the 17-1 final.
Neumann (4-7, 2-0 Atlantic East) heads to Marywood on Friday afternoon for more conference action beginning at 3:00 PM.
