ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University Women's Lacrosse team is heading to the NCAA Division III National Tournament for the first time in program history. Their opponent in the first round will be the Diplomats from Franklin & Marshall College, ranked seventh in Region IV, and 17^th in the nation, according to the IWLCA.  
 
The Knights' automatic berth was secured on Saturday with an 18-13 win over Marywood University in the Atlantic East Conference tournament championship game. Before that, they wiped out Immaculata University in the semifinals, 16-2. Neumann is 9-8 overall and was 5-0 in Atlantic East regular season play.
 
Neumann is led by Alena Catka's 62 goals and 35 assists for 97 points. She is also their leader, and the Atlantic East's top draw control winner with 157, adding 24 caused turnovers and 41 ground balls. Krista Geibler and Rachel Roane have identical offensive numbers with 30 goals and 11 assists each. They are also back-to-back in caused turnovers with Geibler earning 34, and 33 for Miller. Miller also leads the team with 46 ground balls. Sarah Kiraly holds things down in the crease with a goals against average of 11.46.
 
Franklin & Marshall are champions from the Centennial Conference for the fourth year in a row after upending Haverford College in the championship game by a final score of 7-5. They have an overall record of 10-8 and were 7-1 in conference. They defeated Gettysburg in the tournament semifinals, 14-12, before avenging their lone conference loss in the finals.
 
The first-round game, hosted by Trinity College, will get started at 1:00 PM. The winner will challenge the hosts in the second round on Sunday at 1:00 PM. The following weekend will feature the regionals, hosted at four different sites to be determined, and the final four will take place on May 22^nd and 24^th in Rochester, N.Y.
 
Tickets for the 2026 NCAA Division III Women's Lacrosse First and Second Round at Trinity College in Hartford, CT will be available at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 5.
