ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University women's volleyball team opened the 2026 schedule with a 3-1 home win against Cedar Crest.
Julia Solomon led the Knights with 12 kills.
Soleil-La'Jour Staggs and
Melissa Eddy each finished with nine kills.
Amiya Carter handed out 22 assists.
Emma Kovacs tallied 16 assists.
Hannah Strohm and Kovas each had 10 digs in the match.
The first set went back and forth with the Falcons pulling off the 25-23 set one win. The Knights rallied in set two and scored the first 10 points to cruise to a 25-5 win to tie the match at one.
Cedar Crest returned the favor in set three and took an early 10-1 lead. Neumann chipped its way into the deficit and used five-straight points to tie the match at 19 off services by
Kyla Carney. The Falcons took a 20-19 edge, but the Knights responded with the next six points, off services by Kovacs, for a 25-20 set three win.
The Knights took an early 11-4 lead in the fourth set. The Falcons tired to keep up, but Neumann continued to build on its lead, taking a 20-11 advantage. A kill by
Kyndra Dale sealed the 25-20 set and 3-1 match win.
Neumann (1-0) heads to the RWU Invitational this weekend. The Knights will face hosts Roger Williams on Friday beginning at 4:00 PM.
