ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University women's volleyball team defeated FDU-Florham 3-1 as part of Homecoming weekend Friday evening. The Knights won the first two sets 25-22 and 25-23. The Devils won set three 25-22. Neumann wrapped up the match in set four with a 25-12 win.
Julia Solomon led the Knights with 17 kills and a .375 hitting percentage.
Melissa Eddy added 12 kills and 23 digs.
Hannah Strohm finished with 19 digs.
Emma Kovacs handed out 27 assists and four service aces. Amaya Carter dished out 12 assists and four service aces.
In set one, the Knights extended their lead to 15-8 on a service ace from Strohm. The Devils chipped their way back to within one, 20-19. Two kills and a service ace by Eddy put Neumann up 23-19. FDU-Florham tallied the next three points. A kill by Solomon and a Devils error gave Neumann the 25-22 set one win.
The Knights scored the first three points to open set two. The teams went back and forth with neither team scoring more than three points at a time. Tied at 23, kills by

Taylor Dinnis gave Neumann a 25-23 set two win.
Neumann took an early 5-1 lead in the third set. FDU-Florham worked its way into the deficit. With the Devils leading 21-18, the teams went point for point down the stretch for the 25-22 win for FDU-Florham in set three.
The Devils held an early 5-2 lead in set four. The Knights scored the next six points to take an 8-5 edge. Neumann put together some major runs, including scoring the final five points of the match, with three service aces from Kovacs, for the 25-12 set four and 3-1 match win.
Neumann (5-8) is back in conference action on Tuesday when it heads to Messiah. Action gets underway at 7:00 PM.
