NEWARK, Del. – The Neumann University Cross Country teams set the tone for the 2026 campaign with races at White Clay Creek State Park, hosted by the University of Delaware, bringing in top talent from all three NCAA divisions.
 
The morning started with the Men's race on the six-kilometer course. Bryan Castro led all Neumann runners with a time of 24:53.4, placing him fourth among Division III competitors. Jahmeen Ross finished with a time of 39:42.5 with John Barber, Jr. opening his collegiate career with a time of 42:55.6.
 
On the women's side, Katie Baier had the Knights' top time, finishing the 5K course in a time of 27:28.3, fifth among Division III racers. Naylah Smith-Fox established a career-opening time of 31:10.2 with Savanah Kirk and Aiyana Stokes also starting their careers with times of 50:55.3 and 52:45.2.
 
Neumann will be back in action on Friday, September 11^th for the Bill Fritz Cross Country Open. Both teams will look to improve their times starting at 5:30 PM from Dream Park in Logan Township, N.J.
