Joe Camac

Coach Camac enters his third season as an assistant coach with Neumann. He is a native of Aston, Pa. and attended Cardinal O’Hara High School in Springfield, Pa.
 
During high school, Camac played three years of varsity baseball as an outfielder, pitcher, and catcher. Camac spent his senior year as the starting catcher, filling a need for the team. Camac threw out 60% of would-be base stealers in 1999. He was an all-star selection as a senior. Camac went on to earn a Division I scholarship to Western Carolina University as a LHP.
 
While playing at Western Carolina, Camac appeared in 93 games as a pitcher. He averaged a strikeout per inning over his career tallying over 100 strikeouts. Camac also earned 10 saves during his collegiate career. At the time of his graduation, Camac was in the top 10 in career appearances in Western Carolina and Southern Conference history.  In 2003, Camac helped the Western Carolina Catamounts to a 43-21 record, earning a Southern Conference regular season and tournament championship. The Catamounts eventually lost to NC State in the NCAA regional championship game. Camac graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Sociology from Western Carolina in 2003. 
 
Coach Camac began coaching at Neumann University in the Fall of 2014 as the pitching coach. Previous to coaching at Neumann, Coach Camac was an assistant coach at Glen Mills Schools from 2004-2008 and at Sun Valley High School from 2008-2013. Coach Camac worked directly with pitchers, outfielders, and first basemen.
 
Coach Camac currently resides in Aston, Pa. with his wife Eileen. They are expecting their first child in February 2017. Camac is currently a special education teacher in an Alternative Education School for Disruptive Youth in Norristown, Pa.
