Joe Maloney

Coach Maloney begins his second season as an assistant coach with the Knights, previously coaching during the 2015 season.
 
Drafted as a Catcher, by the Texas Rangers in the 10th round out of Limestone College, Coach Maloney will work primarily with the catchers and hitters. He has over six years of professional baseball experience, with the Rangers, Twins, and Rockland Boulders.
 
Maloney, 25, became the first Boulder to take home Can-Am League Player of the Year honors after a dominating offensive season that included a .337 average, 14 home runs, 83 RBIs, 123 hits, 33 doubles and a league-record 91 runs. Coming off the best individual season in franchise history, he was signed by the Minnesota Twins.

A native of Aston, Pa., Coach Maloney played his high school ball at Sun Valley where he was an All-State Catcher his senior year. At Limestone College, he was named All-Amaerican after his junior year.
