Lenny Stanziano starts his fourth season at the helm of the men’s basketball program at Neumann University in 2012-13.
The 2011-2012 season saw the Knights advance to the semifinals with a win over Rosemont College 73-59 before losing to Keystone College. The Knights finished the season 13-14 overall and 9-9 in the CSAC. The season saw sophomore center Mark Blount achieve second team All-CSAC and he led the CSAC in blocks with 79.
In Stanziano’s first two seasons the teams compiled 16 wins and bids to the ECAC South tournament giving the Knights back to back winning seasons for the first time since the 2002-03 and 2003-04 seasons
Prior to Neumann, Coach Stanziano was an assistant coach for two seasons at Lebanon Valley College. During his time at Lebanon Valley he was able to recruit Joe Meehan from St. Joe’s Prep in Philadelphia. Meehan who just finished his junior season was Commonwealth Conference Rookie of the Year and D3 News All America in 2009 as well as being named to the All-Commonwealth Conference first team twice.
Before Lebanon Valley, Stanziano spent two seasons as the Associate Head Coach at St. Mary’s College of Maryland, where he helped the Seahawks reach the semifinals in the Capital Athletic Conference (CAC) during the 2006-07 season. During his time at St. Mary’s, he was able to help recruit the class of 2011 that would go to three NCAA Tournament appearances including two “Sweet Sixteen” and one “Elite Eight” appearance in their four years and consistently be in the Top 25 over the last 4 seasons.
Stanziano started his coaching career at Monsignor Donovan (N.J.) High School for two seasons (2003-05) under Mike Kearney working with all levels from Freshmen, JV and the Varsity.
A 2005 graduate of Richard Stockton College of New Jersey, Stanziano received his Bachelors Degree in Business with a focus in Management. A native of Barnegat, N.J., Stanziano resides in East Norriton, Pa. with his wife Casey and his son Charlie.
