Kelly Rider

Kelly Rider enters her first year as the Head Coach of the Neumann Knights after serving as the top assistant coach in the 2012-2013 season.

Before coming to Neumann in 2012, Coach Rider spent three years as the Head Coach for Canton High School and as an assistant coach for the Southfield School in Massachusetts. At Canton, Rider also served on the Massachusetts State Hockey Coaches Association as a League Representative and Tournament Committee Chair in the fall of 2011. Prior to Canton and Southfield she was the assistant coach for the University of Massachusetts-Boston in 2008-09. She has also served as the head coach for the 12U Troy-Albany Ice Cats, an intern coach for the USA Hockey U18 Developmental camps in Lake Placid and St. Cloud, and a USA Hockey CEP Instructor. She currently holds a level 5 USA Hockey coaching certification.

Rider played for Quinnipiac University from 2003-2007 and graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor’s degree in Athletic Training. In 2005 and 2006 she was awarded the QU Scholar Athlete title. In 2004 and 2007 she was also part of the women’s hockey team that won the Positive Play Cup for Community Service and Involvement. In 2007 she also earned the title of both a Certified Athletic Trainer (NATA/BOC) and a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (NSCA). Rider then went on to receive her Master’s in Education with a specialization in Coaching from Boston University in 2010.

Coach Rider is a native of Glenmont, N.Y. and currently resides in Brookhaven, Pa.
