Nafisa Saunders, of the women's basketball team, is this week's Neumann University Athlete of the Week.
Saunders averaged 35.5 points and 12.0 rebounds as the Knights went 1-1 overall and 1-0 in Atlantic East action. She was named the Atlantic East Player of the Week. Against Rosemont, the senior netted 40 points, had three blocks, four assists, a steal, and 11 rebounds for a double-double. In Neumann's first Atlantic East win, 81-65 at Immaculata, Saunders scored 31 points to go along with 13 rebounds for another double-double, while adding three more assists and a blocked shot. For the game, she went 12-for-17 from the floor, shooting 71 percent from the floor. She currently leads DIII in scoring, averaging 26.4 points per game.
