Nafisa Saunders, of the women's basketball team, is this week's Neumann University Athlete of the Week.
The senior was also named the Atlantic East Conference Player of the Week. Saunders averaged 33.0 points in a 1-1 week overall. She netted 31 points in a 70-69 loss to Marywood. In a 72-68 win at Valley Forge, she netted 35 points. Late in the fourth quarter, she broke the women's basketball program record in career points. She now has 1,844, breaking Brittany Whetts' (2006-10) record of 1,835. She also had 10 steals, three assists, and two blocks for the week to go with 14 rebounds.
