ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann College women's tennis team defeated Eastern University, 6-3, Monday night in the first match on the new Neumann College tennis courts.
Neumann started the afternoon by taking two-of-three in doubles play. Ali DeTolla and Rachel Coladonato won their No. 2 match, 8-3. Michelle Steward and Lindsey Ravior won No. 3 doubles, 8-5.
In singles play, the Knights took the No. 3-6 matches. At No. 3, Courtney Hartell won, 6-4, 6-4. Ravior won at No. 4, 6-4, 6-2. At No. 5 singles, Steward won 6-2, 6-1 and Colandonato won 6-0, 6-0.
The Knights all wore pink socks as the fall teams promote “Sock it to Breast Cancer”.
Neumann improves to 11-7 overall. This match is the seventh consecutive win for the Knights. Neumann will travel to Cabrini on Wednesday for a conference match-up starting at 3:30 p.m.
