Women's Tennis Beats Chestnut Hill

ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann College women's tennis team defeated Chestnut Hill College, 7-2, Tuesday afternoon in non-conference action at Sun Valley High School.

 

Neumann started the afternoon by winning two of three in doubles matches. The No. 2 doubles duo of Ali DeTolla and Rachel Coladonato won by an 8-1 score. Michelle Steward and Lindsey Ravior won No. 3 doubles, 8-3.

 

In singles play, DeTolla came back from being down 5-2 in the first set and won her match at No. 2 singles, 7-5, 6-0. Courtney Hartel took her match at No. 3 singles, 6-0, 6-0. Ravior came back from losing the first set 6-3 and to win 6-1, 10-7 in the super tie-breaker. At No. 5 singles, Steward won by a 6-1, 6-1 score and Coladonato won No. 6 singles, 8-1, in a pro-set.

 

The Knights are now over the .500 mark at 8-7 on the season. Neumann will travel to Reading, Pa. on Friday to face Penn State-Berks. The match is set to get started at 4 p.m.
