ASTON, Pa. – Jasper Thomson and Diane Peters netted goals for the Knights to lift Neumann College over Utica College, 2-1, Friday night in ECAC West action at Ice Works.

Thomson scored with 10 seconds left in the first period to put Neumann up 1-0 into the first intermission. Nicole Alexopolo and Kayla Dubowski assists on the goal.

Peters netted her goal just seconds after the Knights killed off a penalty to put the Knights up 2-0. Thomson and Holly Williams assist on the second goal.

The Pioneers cut the Knights lead in half with a power play goal by Lynny Gonzales off an assist from Becky Heim with five minutes left in the second period.

Mel Brunet made 19 saves in net for the Knights. Neumann out shot Utica 8-4 in the third period to hold off the Pioneers and win the game, 2-1. The Knights improve to 3-2 overall and 3-2 in conference action. Utica is 3-2-1 overall and 1-2-1 in the ECAC West.

The two teams will face-off again tomorrow afternoon. The puck is set to drop at 2 p.m.
