Men's Basketball Beats Phila. Biblical by 10

LANGHORNE, Pa. – The Neumann College men's basketball team defeated Philadelphia Biblical, 76-66, Saturday night in Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) action Saturday night.

 

Eli Hitchens led the Knights with 18 points. Sean Armstrong netted 10 points. Patrick O'Connor pulled down seven rebounds.

 

Philadelphia Biblical had four players in double figures. Tom Arthur led the team 20 points. Mike Phillips netted 14 points. Austin McCardle and Jon Delgado each scored 10 points.

 

Neumann took the lead for good, 46-45, on a Mike Hitchens jumper at the 13:33 mark of the second half. The team then went on a 9-1 run over the next three minutes to take a 55-46 lead. The Knights would build their lead up to as many as 15 points en route to the 76-66 win.

 

Philadelphia Biblical held the advantage for the majority of the first half, with the biggest lead being nine points, 16-7. Neumann tied the score at 23-all on a jumper by Na'Sheed Linton. The Crimson Eagles built their lead back up to six, 33-27 with three minutes left in the first half. Neumann netted the next six points to tie the game. The teams traded three-pointers to take a tie game into halftime.

 

Neumann improves to 7-7 overall and 3-2 in the CSAC. Philadelphia Biblical is 1-11 and 0-5 in the conference. The men will travel to Scranton on Monday for a CSAC game against Marywood. Tip-off is slated for 7 p.m.
