KISSIMMEE, Fla. – The Neumann College men's basketball team fell to Penn State-Altoona, 64-56, Saturday night at the ECAC Holiday Festival.
Na'Sheed Linton led the Knights with 13 points and five assists. Mike Hitchens netted 10 points. Toure Wright grabbed nine rebounds.
Colin Geiger led PSU with 19 points. Sean Stewart and Justin Gasbarre each added 10.
PSU held a one point lead, 51-50, with 6:05 left in regulation before the Lions scored eight straight points to take a 59-50 lead with 2:20 remaining. Marquise Boggs broke the Lions scoring run with a free throw. Linton then hit a jumper to make the score 59-53. The final minute featured fouls and free throws and PSU-Altoona came away with the 64-56 win.
The first half remained close with PSU-Altoona taking the largest of six a few times. The Lions held a six point lead with a minute left in the first half, but Linton and Mike Walukiewicz each hit a jumper to make the score at halftime, 34-42 Lions.
Neumann will wrap up its Florida trip on Sunday against Roger Williams in the consolation game. Tip-off is slated for 12:30 p.m.
