ASTON, Pa. – Na'Sheed Linton hit a lay-up with three seconds remaining to give Neumann College a 73-71 come-from behind win over North Carolina Wesleyan College Tuesday afternoon in non-conference men's basketball action.

Linton and Eli Hitchens each netted 19 points for the Knights, who improve to 5-6 on the season. Linton also notched seven assists. Hitchens pulled in 11 rebounds for a double-double and made three blocks. Mike Hitchens scored 14 points and Toure' Wright added 10.

Jarmel Arrington led NC Wesleyan, 9-3 this season, with 19 points. Trey Drake added 16 points and seven rebounds.

The Knights were down by four, 71-67, with 53 seconds remaining in the game when Eli Hitchens made 1-of-2 free throws. Neumann got the ball back, down by three, when Linton was fouled on a three-point attempt. Linton made 1-of-3 to get within two, but Hitchens grabbed the rebound and made a lay-up to tie the game at 71-all with 11 seconds left.

NC Wesleyan turned the ball over with five seconds remaining as Neumann put on full court pressure. Marquise Boggs stole the ball and dished it to Linton for the game-winning basketball with three ticks left on the clock.

The game started with NC Wesleyan hitting its first of 11 three-points on the afternoon. Neumann made just on from behind the arc. The Battling Bishops held two 10 points leads in the first half and took an eight points lead, 40-32, into the locker rooms.

Neumann kept chipping away at NC Wesleyans lead in the second half, but could not connect on a bucket that would get it the lead. The Battling Bishops lead varied from three to seven points throughout the second half. But the Knights would not give up and with the last seconds efforts by Linton and Eli Hitchens, Neumann pulled out the win.

The Knights will host Colonial State Athletic Conference foe Gwynedd-Mercy on Saturday. The women tip-off at 1 p.m. with the men to follow at 3 p.m.
