SHILLINGTON, Pa. – The Neumann University women's tennis team fell to Alvernia University, 4-3, Monday afternoon in a non-conference match.

The Knights started the afternoon off well, taking 2-of-3 in doubles action. The duo of Michelle Steward and Jasper Thomson took second doubles, 8-5. Seniors Kayla Chamberlain and Allison Trout won third doubles, 8-5.

Thomson won her second singles flight, 1-6, 6-3 (10-8). Steward won her singles match, 6-1, 6-1, at fifth singles.

Neumann is now 10-5 on the season. Alvernia improves to 11-2. The Knights return to conference play on Wednesday with a match at Immaculata.
