SPRINGFIELD, Pa. – The Neumann University women's tennis team defeated Cedar Crest College, 5-2, Saturday evening in a Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) semifinal match-up.
Neumann started the match by taking two-of-three in doubles play. The first doubles team of Ali DeTolla and Maria Evans won 8-6. The duo of Michelle Steward and Jasper Thomson took second doubles, 8-3.
The Knights then took three singles matches to take the match. DeTolla won first singles, 7-6 (6-3), 7-5. Thomson took her match at second singles, 6-1, 6-0. Steward wrapped up the match with a 6-3, 6-4 win at fifth singles.
Neumann will face Gwynedd-Mercy tomorrow at noon for the CSAC Championship.
