SPRINGFIELD, Pa. – The Neumann University women's tennis team fell to Gwynedd-Mercy College, 5-1, Sunday afternoon in the Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) Team Championship match. 

The Knights took their only point in doubles play. Jasper Thomson and Michelle Steward won second doubles, 9-8 (8-6). Ali DeTolla and Maria Evens lost a close match at first singles, 9-8 (8-6). 

The Griffins won three singles matches to take the conference title.

Neumann is 12-6 overall and will wrap-up the 2009 season with two matches this week. The Knights will host Albright on Monday. The match will begin at 4 p.m. and the four seniors will be honored. Neumann's last match will be on Tuesday when it travels to Eastern.
