Women's Tennis Wins 8-1 on Senior Day

ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann University women's tennis team defeated Albright College, 8-1, Monday afternoon in a non-conference match. 

The match also marked the final home date of the 2009 season. The four seniors on the team were honored: Kayla Chamberlain, Lindsey Ravior, Michelle Steward and Allison Trout.

The Knights took two-of-three in doubles action. The first duo of Ali DeTolla and Maria Evans won 8-1. Steward and Jasper Thomson took second doubles 8-3. The third doubles duo of seniors Trout and Chamberlain lost a close match 9-8 (7-1). 

Neumann won all six singles points. DeTolla won first singles, 6-0, 6-1. Thomson took her set at second singles, 6-0, 6-0. At third singles, Trout won 6-3, 6-2. Ravior, Steward and Chamberlain all won 8-0 at fourth, fifth and sixth singles, respectively.

The Knights will wrap up the 2009 season tomorrow when they travel to Eastern. The match is slated to start at 3:15 p.m.
