WEST CHESTER, Pa. – The Neumann University men's basketball team fell to West Chester University, 82-65, Thursday evening in non-conference action.
Na'Sheed Linton led the Knights with 23 points. Marquise Boggs and Mike Walukiewicz each added seven points. Ty Robinson pulled in seven boards.
Ralph Hegamin scored 31 for the Golden Rams and grabbed 18 rebounds. Kehinde Roberts netted 14.
With the score 13-12 WCU and 13:12 on the clock, the Golden Rams went on a 8-0 run over the next two minutes to increase the lead to 21-12. Patrick O'Connor hit a lay-up to break the scoreless drought.
The Knights then went on their own run, and took a 24-23 lead at the 8:12 mark on a lay-up by Robinson. Linton added a basket and a free throw to put Neumann up by four, 27-23. After that run, the Knights could manage only four more points in the half and West Chester took an 11 point advantage, 42-31, into halftime.
Neumann could not get any closer in the second half and WCU kept adding to its lead for the 82-65 win.
The Knights (4-3) will travel to Rowan next Friday for a non-conference contest. Tip-off is slated for 8 p.m. West Chester remains unbeaten at 9-0.
