BUFFALO, N.Y. – A three goal third period lifted the Neumann College women's ice hockey team over Buffalo State, 4-2, Friday night in ECAC West action.

Jasper Thomson and Nicole Alexopoulos each netted a goal and an assist for the Knights.

Buffalo State opened the scoring in the first period with a goal 5:21 into the game. Alexopoulos scored her goal off an assist from Thomson to tie the game five minutes later.

Jessica Schroeder put Neumann ahead, 2-1, 4:55 into the third period from Carly Fitzsimmons and Kayla Dubowski. Thomson scored the game-winner, from Alexopoulos, at the 14:27 mark. Buffalo State got within one, 3-2, with five minutes left in regulation.

Tabatha Schury sealed the win with an empty net goal with 1:13 left. Mel Brunet made 26 saves in net as the Knights improve to 12-10 overall and 9-6 in the conference. Buffalo State and Neumann will meet again tomorrow afternoon at 4 p.m.
