RADNOR, Pa. – The Neumann College men's basketball team fell to Cabrini College, 74-71, Saturday afternoon in Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) action.
Marquise Boggs led the Knights with 21 points. Eli Hitchens netted 17 points and Michael Hitchens added 15.
Kevin Misevicius led the Cavaliers with 20 points. Dom Farrello netted 16 points. Chris Blake scored 11 points while Corey White added 10.
Cabrini held the lead for the entire first half and the first 3:19 of the second half. The Cavaliers largest lead was 14 points, 31-17, with 6:12 remaining in the first half. Neumann began chipping away at the lead and Cabrini took a seven point advantage, 38-31, into halftime.
The Knights began the second half with a 9-1 run to take its first lead, 40-39. The second half featured nine ties and six lead changes. Boggs gave the Knights a two point lead with 2:01 left, 71-69. Farrello tied the game at 71-all with a jumper with 1:44 left then put the Cavaliers ahead by two with 35 seconds remaining. Charles Bush hit one-of-two free throws to give Cabrini a three point advantage with 15 seconds ticks left on the clock. Neumann could not get another shot off and Cabrini held on for the three point win.
Neumann will wrap up its season on Thursday as it hosts Marywood in conference action. The Knights defeated the Pacers, 80-79, earlier this season. Tip-off is slated for 8 p.m.
