ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann College baseball team swept visiting City College of New York Saturday afternoon in a doubleheader. The Knights shutout the Bears, 16-0, in the first game. Neumann won the second game 8-2.
Four players had two RBI in the first game; Mike Gallagher, Kevin Flannigan, Eric Silakowski and Matt Hodges. Gallagher also had two hits and scored three runs. Kevin Lengyel pitched five innings for the win. He struck out six. Stan Sauk pitched two innings.
Gallagher had a strong second game as well. He batted in three runs and scored a run. Silakowski and Billy Canady each had two hits. Scott Hammell went five innings and allowed one run for the win. Sean Quigley pitched two innings.
Neumann will travel to Ft. Pierce, Florida for three contests over spring break. The Knights return home on March 10 to host Misericordia.
