POTSDAM, N.Y. - Carly Fitzsimmons scored 39 seconds into the overtime period to give the Neumann College Women's Ice Hockey team a 3-2 win over Potsdam State Sunday afternoon in an ECAC West match-up.
Potsdam scored the first two goals of the afternoon. The Bears opened the scoring in the first period at the 13:51 mark. Potsdam then scored 16 seconds into the second period to take a 2-0 lead. Angie Conte scored her first goal of the season, off a pass from Vicki Scott, at the 9:13 mark of the second period to bring Neumann within one. Nicki Blazenko netted a power play goal with just under three minute left in the second to tie the game at two. Kayla Dubowski and Jessica Schroeder assisted on the tying goal.
Fitzsimmons gave the Knights the win off a pass from Schroeder for the Knights 11th win of the season. Mel Brunet made 46 saves in net for the Knights.
Neumann will travel to Buffalo State next weekend for ECAC West action.
