Baseball Comes From Behind to Defeat Misericordia

ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann College baseball team scored five runs in the bottom of the seventh inning to come from behind and defeat Misericordia, 11-10, Tuesday afternoon in non-conference action.

 

Nick Martin went 3-for-3 for the Knights with three RBI and a run scored. Billy Canady had two RBI and walked twice. Brian Alburger and Eric Sikakowski scored two runs.

 

Joe Slater pitched 0.1 innings for the win. Stan Suak started the game going three innings. George Hatton and Sean Quigley also pitched.

 

Mike D'Amara was 3-for-4 with two RBI and two runs scored. Brandon Calafut knocked in three runs. Mike Murphy scored three runs.

 

Misericordia opened the game taking a 3-0 lead after three innings. The Knights had a six run fourth inning to take a 6-3 lead. Misericordia answered with four runs in the top of the fifth inning.

 

Misericordia added three runs in the seventh inning to take a 10-6 advantage. The Knights pounded out five runs in the home half of the seventh for the win. Kevin Flannigan knocked in the game winning run with a single to shortstop.

 

Neumann returns to the field tomorrow when it travels to Widener for a single game. First pitch is slated for 3 p.m.
