ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann College softball team swept a doubleheader with Immaculata University Saturday afternoon to open conference play in the Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC). The Knights won the first game 8-0 in six inning while winning second game 10-1 in five innings.
Angela Sebasto allowed one hit and struck out 10 in six innings in the first game. She also had two RBI. Shelia Munson hit a grand slam in the fifth inning.
Munson hit her grand slam, her first collegiate home run, in the fifth inning to extend Neumann's lead to 5-0. Sebasto knocked in Deanna Christy and Gabrielle Lulias in the sixth inning for a 7-0 Knight's lead. Sebasto then scored on a Jenn Goslin single for the final 8-0 score.
Neumann scored three runs in the first, second and fourth innings of the secong game en route to the 10-1 win. Goslin, Kimberly Kirkpatrick and Sarah Marrone each had two RBI. Lauren Strack had three hits and scored two runs. Sarah McGann pitched five innings, allowing one run and striking out three.
Neumann will travel to Ursinus College on Wednesday for non-conference action. First pitch is slated for 3:30 p.m.
