PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – The Neumann College baseball team defeated Arcadia University, 17-5, Wednesday afternoon in non-conference action.
Kevin Flannigan led the Knights with seven hits. Kevin Lengyel, Matt Grossi and Bobby Callan head had three RBI.
Sean Quigley went 4.2 innings allowing five runs on six hits. He also struck out six. George Hatton pitched 3.1 innings in relief for the win. Art Wharton went one inning.
Neumann opened the game, scoring five runs in the first inning, highlighted by a bases-loaded triple by Lengyel.
Arcadia closed the gap with four runs in the fifth inning to make the score 6-5 Neumann. The Knights answered with seven runs in the top of the sixth.
Neumann will face Keystone this weekend in conference action. The Knights will host the Giants on Friday in a single game before meeting in a doubleheader at Keystone on Saturday.
