ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann softball team swept a pair of games from former conference opponent Misericordia University Wednesday afternoon. The scores were 3-1 and 6-0.
In the first game, Jenn Goslin put the Knights on the board in the second inning with a solo homerun. Neumann also scored an unearned run that inning. Misericordia cut the lead in half with a solo shot in the fourth. The Knights scored another unearned run in the fifth for the 3-1 final.
Rachel Purpuro pitched four innings for the win.
Sarah McGann went three innings in relief for the save.
In the second game, the Knights jumped out early with three runs in the first inning. Neumann added three in the fifth, all unearned, to complete the sweep.
Angela Sebasto pitched the complete game for her seventh win of the season.
Neumann will travel to Cedar Crest and Marywood this weekend for conference action.
