LA PLUME, Pa. – The Neumann College baseball team was swept by Keystone College Saturday afternoon in Colonial States Athletic Conference (CSAC) play. Game scores were 3-1 and 8-6.
Matt Gallagher had three hits in the first game. Kevin Lengyel had the lone RBI. Scott Hammell went six innings for the Knights in the loss.
Keystone got on the board with a single run in the first. The Giants then added two more in the third. Neumann scored in the fifth as Lengyel knocked in Gallagher.
In game two, Keystone jumped out to an early 8-0 lead, capped by a six-run third inning. Neumann attempted a comeback with four runs in the top of the seventh, but fell short. Kevin Flanigan had two RBI in the game on two sacrifice flies. Stan Sauk went five innings in the loss. Ray Schmoltze went the seventh inning.
Neumann will travel to Eastern University on Tuesday for a non-conference single game. First pitch is set for 3:30 p.m.
