ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann College baseball team defeated Farmingdale State, 8-5, Friday afternoon in non-conference action.

Brian Alburger went 2-for-4 with two RBI and a run scored. Bobby Callan was 3-for-5 and scored two runs. Matt Gallagher and Matt Grossi each also had two hits. Kevin Lengyel pitched the complete game for the win. He allowed five runs, four earned, on nine hits while striking out two.

After falling behind 1-0 in the first, Grossi hit a solo home run in the bottom of the second to tie the game. The Knights would bat around and score a total of four runs in the second. The bottom of the third was much like the second. Again the Knights batted around and scored four runs, including a two-run double by Alberger.

The Rams were able to put two runs in the board in the third and fifth, but could not come from behind. The Knights improve to 14-13-1 on the season. Neumann will face Baptist Bible College tomorrow in a doubleheader. First pitch is slated for noon.
