ASTON, Pa. – The Neumann College baseball team split a doubleheader with Baptist Bible Saturday afternoon. Game scores were Baptist Bible 16, Neumann 9 and NC 8, BBC 4.

Kevin Lengyel had two RBI in game one. Lincoln Schrock and Matt Grossi each had two hits. Scott Hammell started them game. The Knights used five other pitchers in the game.

Aaron Klosheim had seven RBI for BBC, including a grand slam. Brandon Isenhart also hit a grand slam for the Defenders.

Baptist Bible hit two grand slams, one in the second and one in the third to take an early 8-0 lead. The Defenders led 9-0 after two innings. The Knights three runs in the fifth and four in the sixth, but could not overcome the early deficit.

In game two, Baptist Bible against jumped out to an early lead, 4-0, after thee innings. The Knights started inching back into the game and scored two runs in the bottom of the fourth. Neumann the scored three runs in the bottom of the fifth to take 5-4 lead. Neumann scored three insurance runs in the bottom of the sixth.

Joe Slater started the game and went two innings. Stan Sauk went five innings, struck out four and retired every batter he faced (15-for-15).

Neumann will host Delaware Valley College on Monday. First-pitch is slated for 4 p.m.
